Now that the clown-show farce is in its final weeks, emotions are running high, but critical thinking has all but vanished. And it mostly comes down to how persons FEEL about El Trumpo:
There are two types of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome):
1) persons who think Rumpolini is the most evil despicable man in the world, the greatest threat to democracy; and
2) persons who think The Donald is a Christ-like savior who will "make America great again" (which didn't happen the first time around).
BOTH types (and it represents perhaps a significant majority of the nation) are seriously deranged, because he is neither, as any sane objective person can realize just by looking at the facts.
He IS a narcissistic self-promoter, who can be charming and abrasive, blunt and duplicitous, savvy and ignorant, He seems to have no filter, and often says stuff a more prudent person would self-censor. There are past presidents who grew up rich and privileged who actually seemed to have some concern for the ordinary working class, even if it was some kind of paternalistic noblesse oblige, but even stunts like his brief stint at McD's don't seem to be more than just stunts. When did he ever put real backing into real policies that compared to something like FDR's New Deal?
As for QueMala, how did this empty-headed Cackling Queen of Word Salad ever get even considered as worthy of ANY elected office? A round-heeled ambitious seeker-out of well-positioned males, from Montel Williams and Willie Brown, she never got a single vote on her way onto the 2024 ballot, all the while swearing that the rancid sack of oatmeal in the Offal Orifice was sharp as a tack. Without one accomplishment she can point to (though trying hard to ignore the many failures and egregious policies she bungled), she shifts accents and shuffles her heritage as it suits the audience.
So, perhaps the worst choice in decades, if not forever, and most sheeple think it will all make a difference, as if the PTB oligarchs and banksters won't continue to hold the levers and run the show.
You write so well. Steve. I appreciate your thoughts...always
If you are looking at personalities, I agree that it is sad that this seems to be the best a country such as ours has to offer its people. I sat stunned( but not really as I expected no better) after the debates thinking the above thought. Politics, afterall is the dirtiest of dirty business...has been since mankind submitted to being ruled by others..however. our country has If not better than most, at least has been good at offering us a better facade than most and whatever has gone before, it has worked better for most of us than most countries have offered its citizenry. Unlike you, however, I do feel, having watched outcomes for the last 15 years or so, we are at some sort of flipping point. And perhaps being one of your said to be sheople( I made the 1st sheople in my business almost 40 years ago...By the way..the Ewe knitting " herself" as it were, a sweater, and the Ram reading the Wool Street Journal) so, yes, a sheople I most assuredly am, and I will always look to smaller government, a better chance at small units of self rule, and more independence from rules made by others to cast with my vote a prayer for greater control over my own life. I have faith that, given the chance, the people , as a whole will generally( not always, but generally) do that which most insures their personal autonomy. To see a push toward a "big brother is watching" society as there exists in China, to cringe at the inevitable destruction of cash for the more convenient tap of the phone purchase and with it total control over our individual financial lives,or watch the lunacy surrounding " climate
change"agendas, to watch this fills me with horror at the use of fear and convenience to control populations. I , then, must become one of the sheep you detest and then be forced to put aside personalities and vote for agendas that at least make sense to me, those that look as though they are more likely to allow my sons and grandsons at least more hope of living a life such as I have been blessed to live. Any party promising a lighter push toward more and more control over our lives and an ability to live freer than most humans have lived throughout time, where we at least have the hope that we can criticize our government without censorship or worse,...that party, though subject to powerful banks, corporations and all the big naughties that exist in the world of big..that party that at least gives lip service along with some evidence of holding to these things I hold to, Will get my vote. Governments, as they say, should exist to offer opportunities, not ensure unearned outcomes! And then, there is the hate that is used to bring " joy" to a country so divided...to think that murder can bring joy??? Ok, if there was any doubt, perhaps it was that that sealed the deal for a sheep such as I!
